Starbucks vs. the Bean

Starbucks vs. the Bean

  1. This is great, I walk by and compare the 2 all the time. Usually the benches outside the Bean are filled entirely and the seating inside the Bean is packed.

    1. ...(continued)...while Starbucks just looks fairly empty.

    2. Does the Bean provide health insurance for its employees like Starbuck?

    3. This is the OTHER anonymous. I didn't ask that question. Besides, Starbuck is the accountant on the Pequod in Moby Dick. No health care on the Pequod, only maneating whales. And what does this have to do with the evils of predatory real estate capitalists? You know, like whalers? Or the BSes. .........................

    4. Considering that The Bean has some long term employees, I'm guessing that they're treated pretty well.

The few folks IN Starbucks always look like they're just visiting the neighborhood. I'm not quite sure WHAT it is that gives me that impression, they just seem kind of uncomfortable and stiff. A weird thing to notice in coffee shop customers.
