This is a new letter from Mgmt posted on all floors of 118 East 4th St. It concerns the removal and installation of new mailboxes. The letter is of course not signed or dated. They seem to be asking us as tenants to do their job for them. Considering the inflated rents the new tenants are paying, its a bit insulting.
195 East 4th Street is also a Fortune East owned building going through the same construction nightmares we are going through. More on that later. Here is a description from one of their tenants we are in email contact with, concerning their mail situation.
Do not rent from Ben Shaoul, Magnum Real Estate, Fortune East, or PVE Assoc.
Your management company isn't asking you to do their job! That is their way of saying "FUCK YOU". What a bunch of douchebags!
ReplyDeleteI know what you're going through is difficult, but really, aren't you a little paranoid? That letter sounds like your management co. has tried to fix it and is waiting on the US Post Office to okay it! Why not call Mrs. Cairo and tell them to get a move on!
ReplyDeleteYour block is in 10003. That's centered at the Cooper Post Office. Perhaps inspections start at 14th St, I wouldn't know. But if the mailboxes are broken, perhaps someone should tell management, not the blog. The post is OFTEN hard to communicate with. As of course is Fortune East. But I don't understand, are you picking up your mail at the Post Office? If you have to be there ANYWAY, why don't you ask someone about it? Don't be insulted if there is a way you can help solve the problem. It would help your neighbors far more than it would help FE. It's never easy for anyone to ask for help.
ReplyDeleteThe flyer on the front door proves that management is well aware of the situation!
ReplyDeleteSTILL broken. If they wanted them inspected, it implies they THOUGHT they had fixed them. The impression the letter gives me is that FE is waiting for the inspection. If the PO thinks the inspection has been done and the results were negative, someone needs to tell FE. If there's a lack of communication, both sides are at fault. And the tenant is in the middle. So theTENANT needs to speak up. You know, like a kid in a bad marriage.
ReplyDeleteI am dealing with the same thing over at 195 east 4th. It is unbelievably frustrating and it has nothing to do with communication problems. The management company is completely at fault. I spoke to a very nice man over at the 14st post office. That is where my mail is zoned. He informed me that the management company was late with the request and then never followed up and they have been waiting for a master key for the mail carrier for over a month! They can't even set up the appt to inspect the mailboxes until they have it! (which means about another month without mail) When i called the management company to get some answers they took down my information and never called me back. I finally was able to speak to someone after calling everyday for a week. Then they pushed the blame on the post office. I have lived in new york and rented for over 15 years and have never had a problem. They are by far the worst management company i have ever dealt with and this is just one of the very many problems i am dealing with
