It seems illegal BBQs have run amok here on the roof tops of 118, 120 and 122 East 4th St. One hates to but into the neighbor's business..... but when they are playing with FIRE, literally, and illegally....
These regulations regarding the use of BBQ grills in NYC are from the FDNY website. Perhaps a visit to our local Fire Dept on Great Jones St to inquire about an inspection is merited.
Are all those tenants just thumbing their noses at the law? or are they clueless? or is Magnum telling them that they can have those illegal BBQs?
ReplyDeleteAside from the obvious hazard, I can see those pillows going up in flames quickly, doesn't it really fuck up their insurance?
You need to get the FDNY over ASAP.
I don't think they're thumbing their noses! They are most likely coming from suburban homes where a propane grill is stored on the back deck right next to the family house. They are also most likely unaware of NYC fire laws and probably have been OUT-RIGHT LIED TO by realtors.
ReplyDeleteIts hard to say. The FDNY was here twice in April when the weather was nice. They made the tenants put out the fire in their BBQs. I believe the tenants were fined as well, and yet they still use the BBQs. And now there are MORE grills.
